War update: 23 combat clashes in past day, Ukraine repels Russian assaults in Avdiivka area

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in its morning update, Ukrinform saw.

"Throughout the day, 23 combat clashes have taken place. In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the Avdiivka area. More than 15 settlements, including Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Soloviove, Stepove, and Orlivka, Donetsk region, were hit by artillery," the report reads.

Tonight, the Russian Federation launched a missile attack on the city of Dnipro. The reports regarding the consequences of this terrorist attack are currently being verified.

In the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 10 missile attacks and 57 air strikes, as well as 70 attacks involving MLR systems, on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Also, the occupiers once again attacked the territory of Ukraine, using the Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed 12 enemy drones. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Residential buildings, port infrastructure, schools, and other civil infrastructure sustained damage.

The probability of Russia launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

On the Volyn and Polissia axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Romny and Kostiantynivka, Sumy region, and Dovzhyk and Chuhunivka, Kharkiv region. Mortar and artillery strikes targeted more than 15 settlements, including Bleshnia, Chernihiv region, Volfyne, Kindrativka, and Veselivka, Sumy region, and Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, and Krasnyi Yar, Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Novoyehorivka area, Luhansk region. Airstrikes targeted the Shiykivka area in Kharkiv region and Tverdokhlibove, Luhansk region. The settlements of Dvorichna, Kislivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, and Pishchane, Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

Over 30 settlements, including Nevske and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Vyimka, Zvanivka, Rozdolivka, and Fedorivka, Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery in the Lyman direction.

On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy undertook unsuccessful offensive efforts in the Vesele area, Donetsk region. Airstrikes targeted the areas of Spirne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Bila Hora, Donetsk region. More than 25 settlements, including Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Stupochky, Bila Hora, Diliivka, and Kurdiumivka, Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In the Marinka direction, Ukraine’s defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka areas, Donetsk region. The Russian airstrike hit the Krasnohorivka area, Donetsk region. The settlements of Krasnohirvka, Marinka, Oleksandropil, Kurakhove, Antonivka, and Yelizavetivka, Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery fire.

In the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy launched an airstrike in the Blahodatne area, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Shakhtarske, Vremivka, Blahodatne, Urozhaine, and Novopil, Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery fire.

In the Zaporizhia direction, the enemy ran unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Mala Tokmakchka, Zaporizhzhia region. Their airstrikes targeted the districts of Orikhiv, Novodanilivka, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 settlements were affected by artillery shelling, among them Yehorivka, Chervona Krynytsia, Orikhiv, Novodanilivka, Robotyne, and Ilchenkove, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Beryslav, Odradokamianka, Lvove, and Kherson, Kherson region, and Izmail, Odesa region. Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Respublikanets, and Burhunka, Kherson region, and the city of Kherson were affected by enemy artillery fire.

At the same time, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, getting entrenched in the regained positions and engaging in counter-battery combat.

Russian invaders continue to exploit the civilian infrastructure of temporarily occupied settlements to ensure medical aid to their wounded servicemen.

In the town of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, the Russians transformed the premises of a local rehabilitation center into a field hospital, where about 100 wounded occupiers are being treated.

Over the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force two times hit Russian control points, nine enemy clusters, and four anti-aircraft missile systems.
