Yermak on Ukraine’s counteroffensive: We can surprise the world
He said this in an interview with DW, Ukrinform reports.
"Today, no one can predict 100 percent how things will develop... I believe that the counteroffensive continues. Every day there is at least some progress, and certainly something, some things change, because every day something happens. And I hope that this time we will surprise the world," said Yermak.
According to him, the effort is certainly developing more slowly than Ukraine would like, for which there are legitimate reasons. First of all, this is about a large swath of mined lands, as well as a lack of required weapons systems
In addition, the head of the President’s Office noted, Ukrainians have a different philosophy toward their people, which is what makes them “different from Russians.”
"We think about our people, and the Russians – in no way. The Russians do not count people, for them they are just, sorry, the kind of meat that they throw into a grinder. And they don’t even extract many of their killed from the battlefield. And therefore, of course, this is a war not only between Russia and Ukraine, it is a war of worldviews, philosophies, dictatorship against democracy," Yermak said.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is progressing despite being slow in the face of difficult challenges.
