Over the past day, Ukrainian troops succeeded in two directions on the southern front.
Andriy Kovalev, the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of the telethon 'United News', according to Ukrinform.
"The defense forces continue to conduct an offensive towards Melitopol. In the directions of Novodanilivka - Novoprokopivka and Mala Tokmachka - Ocheretuvate, they have been successful and are consolidating the achieved positions," he said.
According to him, in the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive south of the city of Bakhmut.
As reported, from February 24, 2022, to August 25, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated about 259,630 Russian invaders, with another 470 people killed in the last day.
