Ihnat: Russia attacks Ukraine at night with various means to confuse air defense system
Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, said this on the air of the nationwide telethon 'United News', a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Ihnat emphasized that the enemy is attacking in the direction of Reni, where there is port infrastructure, and the previous time half of the air targets were destroyed. "Last night we managed to destroy (all enemy targets - ed.). The enemy tried to do the same thing from different directions, there was a lot of air activity in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, and thus, under the Kh-59 missiles launched from Su-34 aircraft, the enemy wanted to do it with the effect of surprise, they fired two Kalibr cruise missiles from a small missile ship from the Sea of Azov. That's how the enemy wanted to confuse our air defense and attacked with various means," the spokesman said.
He recalled that all four missiles were destroyed at night in the Odesa region.
As reported, at night on August 25, the Russian Federation launched air and sea-based missiles from the Black and Azov Seas. Two Kh-59 guided missiles from the Black Sea and two Kalibr cruise missiles from a small missile ship from the Sea of Azov were launched from Su-34 aircraft in the direction of the southern regions. A Shahed attack UAV was also launched from the direction of Prymorsko-Akhtarsk. All five targets were destroyed by the Air Force.
