Russia could hold defenses forever if Ukraine takes no pro-active moves - intel chief

Russia can maintain defense lines in occupied parts of Ukraine "forever" if Ukrainian troops fail to take pro-active measures to liberate their lands.
This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, who spoke in an interview with Crimea.Realities, Ukrinform reports.
"They can hold on for a long time if we take no pro-active moves. They can hold on forever, believe me," he said.

"We need to break through the defense lines. Which is what is actually being done now. Those who say that it is possible to come up with some magical way, be aware that it is not. No such way exists," added the GUR chief.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Kyrylo Bulanov believes the only reserves Russia has at hand are human while the country has already exhausted military reserves for a long war.
