Ukrainian troops continue offensive south of Bakhmut, enemy suffers significant losses - General Staff

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations south of Bakhmut, consolidating the achieved positions.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted this on its Facebook page, according to Ukrinform.

The General Staff reports that the Russians conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Avdiivka and Mariinka, in the Donetsk region. The enemy is suffering significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment, is moving units and troops, and is actively using reserves.

The Defense Forces also continue to hold back the Russian offensive at the Kupiansk, Lyman and Bakhmut directions.

"The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Klishchiivka, in the Donetsk region. Heavy fighting continues," the General Staff emphasized.

As reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 530 Russian invaders over the past day, and in total from February 24, 2022 to August 29, 2023 - about 261,840 aggressors.
