The Ukrainian government and international partners are already discussing the concept of the country’s future defense forces.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov in an interview with Ukrinform.

According to Reznikov, together with partners, Ukraine is now deciding on what the Ukrainian army will look like tomorrow.

“We are already talking with our partners about this, already writing. We are doing research, we will do computer simulations, we have already planned dates and places, I will talk about this with our partners, the ministers of defense. Hence, we do not simply think, we are already working on what we will look like tomorrow,” Reznikov told.

In his words, Ukraine must ensure that its neighbor [Russia- Ed.], “the one across the border, across the fence, is aware that, as soon as it makes a move, it will be smacked in the teeth”.

Reznikov mentioned that the Ukrainian Peace Formula is about the country’s future security guarantees from partners.

“We do not trust in the Budapest Memorandum or its analogue, because it did not work. We need something new, so we are already discussing two things today: first, these are the alliances that can be, the members of which will guarantee our security, but also with our contribution, either NATO or bilateral agreements – there can be different options,” Reznikov added.

A reminder that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Peace Formula in November 2022. The Head of State believes this formula can create a new global security architecture.
