Army spox comments on reports of landing operation in left-bank part of Kherson region
She noted this on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"First, it is too early to talk about it in the affirmative tone because these are just the conclusions of analysts," she said.
Humeniuk expressed the opinion that it is also rather strange that the report on the landing operation by Ukraine’s Armed Forces on the left-bank part of Kherson region was confirmed by Russian milbloggers, adding that their reports should never be taken for granted.
"We say that our forces do their job in different directions, in different ways, with an emphasis on counterbattery fight, because the task is to cleanse part of the territory on the left bank of the Dnipro of enemy forces," the spokeswoman informed.
According to Humeniuk, purging the left bank is needed to "make life easier for the right bank" as the invaders keep shelling and bombing it, including from the air. Therefore, the priority of our defense forces is now "to facilitate the life of the civilian population."
"So we’re not talking about any large-scale advance, it’s routine combat work, the results of which can be announced only once there’s a solid result," the official explained.
She emphasized that such reports are harmful to combat performance. The spokeswoman noted that the efforts undertaken around any settlement without a fixed result are not considered complete.
"Therefore, let's not rush anywhere, let’s trust our military who is doing this work," the press officer concluded.
Earlier, ISW reported that the units of two Marine Infantry Brigades stormed the Dnipro, landing on the left bank in Kherson region on October 17-18.
