Defense forces repel more than 60 attacks in seven directions

This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00 on Sunday, October 22, published on Facebook.

A total of 82 combat engagements took place at the front during the day. The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

The offensive operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine continues in Melitopol direction. Ukrainian defenders continue to conduct offensive (assault) actions in Bakhmut direction.

The defenders inflict manpower and equipment losses on the Russian troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation launched seven strikes on enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment clusters. The missile units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed four enemy artillery systems.

In total, the Russian army launched ten missile strikes, 36 airstrikes, 35 MLRS attacks on positions of the Ukrainian troops and populated settlements.

In particular, at the beginning of the day, the Russians once again launched a missile and air strike on Ukraine. In particular, civilian objects in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, came under enemy fire.

As a result of the Russian attacks, civilians were killed and injured, houses and other civilian infrastructure objects were destroyed.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly, no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, Russia maintains a military presence in border areas, continues shelling populated settlements from its territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.

About ten settlements came under enemy mortar and artillery fire in the indicated two directions, among them – Bleshnia and Yanzhulivka in Chernihiv region; Stara Huta, Demyanivka, Kruzhok, Myropilske in Sumy region; Pletenivka, Zybine in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 15 Russian attacks in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv region.

The Russians used artillery and mortars to shell about ten settlements in this direction, including Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region. Airstrikes were recorded near Ivanivka and Kurylivka in Kharkiv region.

In Lyman direction, the defense forces repelled three enemy attacks in the area of Nadiya in Luhansk region. About 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire, including Nevske, Kreminna and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Novosadove, Torske, Spirne in Donetsk region.

The Russians launched airstrikes on the territory near Nadiya and Nevske in Luhansk region; Spirne and Vyimka in Donetsk region.

In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka, Khromove, Andriyivka, Druzhba in Donetsk region. About 20 settlements, including Kalynivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriyivka, Odradivka, Kurdiumivka in Donetsk region, suffered from Russian artillery and mortar fire.

The invaders launched airstrikes near Klishchiyivka and New York.

In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assaults with the support of aviation in the areas of Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Opytne, Nevelske in Donetsk region. The defense forces repelled about 20 enemy attacks here.

The Russians launched airstrikes near Novokalynove and Orlivka, Donetsk region. The invaders also shelled more than ten settlements with artillery and mortars, including Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Opytne, Sieverne, Tonenke in Donetsk region.

In Marinka direction, the Russian army conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhaylivka in Donetsk region. The defense forces repelled more than 20 enemy attacks here.

About ten settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnohorivka, Oleksandropil, Heorhiyivka, Marinka, Novomykhaylivka and Katerynivka.

In Shakhtarske direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all Russian attacks in the areas of Prechystivka and Zolota Nyva. About 20 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, and Urozhayne in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the defense forces repelled Russian attacks in the areas of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements, including Bilohirya, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Novoandriyivka, Mali Shcherbaky and Pyatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia region, came under enemy mortar and artillery fire.

The invaders launched an airstrike near Mala Tokmachka.

In Kherson direction, the Russian army launched airstrikes in the areas of Olhivka, Lvove, Tiahynka, Tokarivka, Poniativka, Barvinka in Kherson region. Kherson, Ivanivka, Stanislav were shelled from artillery and mortars.
