War update: Defense Forces down all enemy drones attacking Ukraine last night
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
More than 90 combat engagements have occurred on the front over the past day.
Russian invaders launched 10 missile strikes and 63 air strikes, and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 58 times on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
Following Russian terrorist attacks, casualties among civilians were reported, as well as the damage caused to residential houses and other civil infrastructure.
Additionally, Russian occupiers launched another overnight missile and air attack. The enemy fired the Kh-59 guided air-launched missile and S-300 guided surface-to-air missiles at civilian objects in the Donetsk region’s Kostiantynivka. Russians also launched four Shahed-136/131 loitering munitions and one unidentified combat drone.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces managed to intercept one Russian Kh-59 missile and all enemy drones.
Russian air strikes affected the Kharkiv region’s Ivanivka and Kurylivka; the Luhansk region’s Nadiia and Nevske; the Donetsk region’s Serebrianka, Spirne, Vyimka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, New York, Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Orlivka, Marinka, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva and Staromaiorske; the Zaporizhzhia region’s Mala Tokmachka; the Kherson region’s Olhivka, Lvove, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, Poniativka, Mykytivka, Prydniprovske and Barvinok.
Russian artillery strikes affected about 140 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remained rather unchanged.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, Russians are maintaining military presence within the border areas and carrying out sabotage actions to prevent Ukrainian forces from being redeployed to other directions.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled more than 15 enemy attacks near the Kharkiv region’s Synkivka and Ivanivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled about 10 enemy attacks near the Luhansk region’s Nadiia and Serebrianske forestry.
In the Bakhmut direction, all Russian attacks were repelled near the Donetsk region’s Bohdanivka, Khromove, Ivanivske, Druzhba and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders continue assault actions to the south of Bakhmut, inflicting personnel and equipment losses on the enemy, and gaining a foothold within the re-captured frontiers.
In the Avdiivka direction, Russians continue attempts to encircle the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka, but Ukrainian warriors are firmly holding defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Russian offensive actions had no success near Avdiivka, Keramik, Stepove, Tonenke, Opytne and Nevelske, where Ukrainian forces repelled over 20 enemy attacks.
In the Marinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the Donetsk region’s Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka. Twenty-four Russian attacks were repelled.
In the Shakhtarske and Zaporizhzhia directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks near the Donetsk region’s Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva; the Zaporizhzhia region’s Verbove and Robotyne.
In the Kherson region’s Nova Kakhovka, Russians are strengthening the occupation regime’s measures. The occupiers’ police are looking for up to 60 Russian deserters all over the town.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue conducting the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting personnel and equipment losses on Russian troops and exhausting the enemy all over the front line.
In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian warriors are carrying out counterbattery measures and attacking the enemy’s rear lines.
Over the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched seven strikes on Russian personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters.
