More than 260 civilians killed by Russian landmines in Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, 261 people have been killed and another 559 injured by landmines and explosive objects in Ukraine.

The State Emergency Service said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, 559 people have received injuries of varying degrees of severity by landmines and explosive devices, and 261 people have been killed. Among those injured are 68 children, and 14 have been killed," the report says.

Rescuers warn people that dangerous items can be found in fields, forests, forest belts, among bushes or in water bodies - especially in areas where active hostilities have been taking place. Explosive items can also be disguised as ordinary household items, such as a toy or a book.

The State Emergency Service urges people to be aware of the high mine danger and report any suspicious objects immediately by calling a 101 emergency line.

As reported by Ukrinform, since the full-scale war began, the State Emergency Service have neutralized 445,691 explosive items in Ukraine.
