Number of enemy assaults near Avdiivka almost halved – Defense Forces spox
The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces in the Tavria direction Oleksandr Shtupun during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today, the number of assaults near Avdiivka has somewhat reduced, practically halved. Fifty-seven combat engagements were recorded the day before yesterday, and 28 yesterday,” Shtupun told.
In his words, Russian invaders often drop guided bombs in that area.
“Over the past two nights alone, the enemy has dropped 40 guided bombs near Avdiivka,” Shtupun noted.
In the past five days, Russia has lost about 2,400 troops in killed and injured in the Donetsk region. Additionally, more than 150 enemy equipment units were destroyed, including 54 tanks.
On October 24, 2023, with the support of aircraft, Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Stepove, Avdiivka and Sieverne. Six enemy attacks were repelled. Near Marinka and Pobieda, twenty unsuccessful enemy attacks were recorded.
Speaking of the Shakhtarske and Zaporizhzhiaa directions, Shtupun mentioned that Ukrainian forces had repelled all enemy attacks near Zolota Nyva, Prechystivka and Novomykhailivka. Ukrainian warriors continue conducting the offensive in the Melitopol direction.
