Injury toll in Russia’s recent shelling of downtown Kherson rises to nine

Two people have been killed and nine injured in Russia’s recent attack on downtown Kherson. A dozen of vehicles were damaged, including police cars and special medical transport.

The relevant statement was made by Kherson Region’s Police on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today, around 02:00 p.m., the enemy again insidiously shelled Kherson’s Central district, having attacked peaceful areas with multiple launch rocket systems and artillery,” the report states.

The enemy shelling affected a hospital, café, judicial facility, educational institution, shops, and detached houses. Fires broke out as Russian projectiles exploded.

A total of 10 vehicles were damaged or destroyed, including two police cars and special medical transport.

According to the police, nine people have been confirmed as injured so far: four women (one health worker among them) and five men.

Two local residents were killed: a man, 45, and a woman, 62.

Medics and rescuers were working at the scene. The police were providing aid to those injured and documenting the consequences of Russian shelling.
