United States reaffirms consistent support for Ukraine - State Department
Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, said this at a press briefing in Washington, Ukrinform reports.
“In all of our conversations with the Ukrainian Government make clear that we will continue to stand by them,” said the U.S. Department of State representative, commenting on a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation headed by Andriy Yermak with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Miller stressed that Washington constantly voices similar messages, including at the level of the U.S. President. In this context, he recalled Joe Biden's recent address to the nation, when he requested Congress to provide supplemental assistance to Ukraine.
In addition, the U.S. State Department representative said that the U.S. Secretary of State talked with Yermak about steps the United States can take together with Ukraine “to harden its infrastructure for the upcoming winter”. He noted that the danger of Russian attacks against Ukraine's energy supply facilities in the winter remains.
As reported by Ukrinform, the head of the President’s Office of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday. The parties discussed the AFU priority needs, strengthening of Ukraine's critical infrastructure, sanctions against Russia, and other topics.
