Ukraine verifying reports of North Korean ballistic missile supplies to Russia
Andriy Yusov, the spokesman for defense intelligence, spoke of this on the air of Radio NV, reports Ukrinform.
"Defense cooperation (between Russia and the DPRK - ed.) has been developing. It mainly concerned artillery and ammunition stocks, and other elements related to artillery and armored vehicles. As for ballistic capabilities, they are on Russia’s wish list to North Korea and Iran. Indeed, we saw some reports. Regarding the receipt and use of these capabilities, the information is being verified," said Yusov.
He added that this is definitely a serious signal that Ukraine is looking into.
"But for final confirmation there must be absolutely accurate intelligence. Once everything has been verified properly, it will be made public," assured the GUR spokesman.
As reported, the United States will convene a meeting of the UN Security Council on January 10 to discuss the supply of missiles to the Russian Federation from North Korea.
U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said Russia's use of North Korean missiles for attacks on Ukrainian cities and its intention to acquire missiles from Iran underscore the urgency of the United States' support to Ukraine.
