Three bodies recovered from sites of strikes in Pokrovsk district - Klymenko
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Facebook, referring to Minister Ihor Klymenko, Ukrinform reports.
"Donetsk region, Pokrovsk district. Emergency and rescue operations have been going on for over a day. Rescuers have dismantled more than 100 tonnes of destroyed building elements at the impact sites. Police officers have recovered more than fifty body fragments, they are now taking biological samples and doing everything possible to identify the victims," said Klymenko.
The Interior Minister also said that, according to preliminary information, at least 11 people, including five children, were killed by Russian strikes. "However, the final number of casualties will be confirmed by an expert examination. The force of the enemy strike was too powerful, so this work will take time," he added.
As reported by Ukrinform, on January 6, the Russian army launched a massive attack on the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
In the Pokrovsk community, six people were killed and eight wounded, 134 private houses and 15 high-rise buildings were damaged. In Rivne of the Myrnohrad community, six people were killed and two wounded, 80 houses, a paramedic and obstetric center and an administrative building were damaged. The invaders used S-300 missiles.
