General Staff: 35 combat clashes on front lines in past day
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its morning update posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
In the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 11 missile attacks and 69 airstrikes, as well as 53 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
At night, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine once again with eight Shahed-136/131 combat UAVs. All enemy drones were destroyed.
The following areas were hit by airstrikes: Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Berestovka of the Kharkiv region; Serebrianka Forestry, Luhansk region; Kolodiazi, Torske, Dibrova, Druzhba, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane of the Donetsk region; Krynyky, Respublikanets, Zmiivka, Chervonyi Mayak of the Kherson region.
About 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under enemy artillery fire.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.
In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna sectors, the enemy keeps military presence in the border area, conducting active subversive activities in order to prevent the transfer of Ukrainian troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka settlements of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the occupiers east of Terny, Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three enemy attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy that does not stop its attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers firmly hold the defense, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. In the past day, the Defense Forces repelled six enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and another 15 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region.
In the Marinka sector, Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repelled three attacks.
In the Shakhtarske sector, the occupants did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.
In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson sector, Ukrainian soldiers will continue measures to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not abandon its attempts to knock Ukrainian units out of their positions. In the past day, the enemy carried out three unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian positions.
At the same time, Ukrainian defenders continue to inflict manpower and equipment losses on occupation troops, weakening the enemy along the entire front line.
According to the General Staff, the Air Force of Ukraine launched four strikes on enemy manpower clusters. Also, Ukrainian forces and means destroyed one Kh-59 guided missile.
Units of the Ukrainian missile forces hit one enemy command post, two ammunition depots and two artillery units.
