
Man rescued from rubble in Kharkiv, his wife and child still being searched for
Mayor Ihor Terekhov said this in a commentary to the media, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"There is a family under the rubble. And our rescuers are talking to the man, who is trapped under the slab. The rescue operation is underway," the mayor informed.
According to preliminary data, a man, a woman, and a child are under the rubble.
Later, Terekhov reported on Telegram that a man had been pulled out of the rubble.
"A man was pulled out of the rubble. He is alive. He says his wife and child remain under the rubble," the statement said.
As reported, at least eight explosions were heard in Kharkiv around 7:15 a.m.
The entrance of a five-story residential building was destroyed. Some neighborhoods lost power.
As of 11:00 a.m., three people were reported dead (two women and a man) and 42 wounded, including four children.
This was the second attack on Kharkiv on January 23: there were also a series of strikes around 4 a.m. According to preliminary information, a residential building and civilian infrastructure were damaged. According to the police, the exact locations were hit.
