After returning to Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky chaired a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to discuss changes on the battlefield, the fight against Russian drones, and the priority areas for the deployment of expected air defense systems.

The head of state said this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"After returning to Kyiv, the first thing I did was hold a meeting of the Staff to get all the updates on the changes on the battlefield. I heard a report by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation in the main sectors," Zelensky said.

According to him, the meeting included reports by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshyn: the fight against Russian Orlan, Lancet and other drones and the development of Ukraine’s own UAV and EW technologies.

"We have also identified priority areas for the deployment of expected air defense systems," the President noted.

Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Barhylevych reported on the state of training, manning and equipping brigades and reserves. The heads of the Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv military administrations reported on the construction of fortifications, the protection of important facilities, including power generation, and the current state of electricity supply.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 31, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbocksaid that Germany would transfer another Patriot air defense system to Ukraine to strengthen the country's air defense against Russian aggression.
