Massive fire at oil refinery in Russia’s Rostov region following drone attack
Ukrinform
Overnight Thursday, a series of explosions caused a large-scale fire at the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in Russia’s Rostov region.
That’s according to the regional governor, Vasiliy Golubev, who broke the news via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"As a result of an UAV attack, a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery. Emergency response services are on site. Casualty reports are being verified," the statement reads.
As Golubev added later, fire response efforts were suspended over a threat of a repeated attack. The authorities were considering using a specialized train to put out the blaze.
