France to transfer Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine – Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France will send Mirage fighter jets to Ukraine and train Ukrainian pilots in France.

He said this in a live interview with several French TV channels, Ukrinform reports.

"Tomorrow we will launch a new cooperation and announce the transfer of Mirage 2000-5," Macron said.

He said that fighter jets would be sent to Ukraine, and pilot training programs would begin from this summer and last until the end of the year.

Macron also added that France offers training for 4,500 Ukrainian soldiers.

As reported by Ukrinform, French President Emmanuel Macron thanked the Ukrainian people for their fight for freedom, saying that Europe's support would not weaken in the face of Russia's attempts to change borders or rewrite history.
