Ukrainian border guards receive 50 vehicles from charitable organizations
That's according to the border agency, Ukrinform reports.
"The first batch of 50 vehicles has been on the front line since February of this year, and another 50 vehicles were handed over to the State Border Guard Service today [on June 6]," the report reads.
The Volkswagen T5s were purchased and donated by the KSE Foundation in cooperation with the BGV Charity Fund.
The State Border Guard Service said the vehicles had completed the cycle of maintenance and would soon be redeployed to border service units to perform operational and logistical tasks in the units performing combat missions on the battlefield.
The vehicles are needed for the brigade-type border units that have already been formed and continue to be formed in the border agency.
The border guards thanked the philanthropists for the much-needed help.
"The transferred vehicles meet the request of the State Border Guard Service - the vans can be adapted to perform various tasks, both combat and special. The base of these vehicles helps place any equipment, including means of communication, unmanned aviation, surveillance, and carry out the necessary logistics," the border agency added.
The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service last February received 50 Volkswagen T5 vans from charitable organizations for border protection.
