Netherlands investing EUR 400M in production of combat vehicles for Ukraine
That's according to De telegraaf, Ukrinform reports.
"The Netherlands is investing 400 million euros in a Swedish fund to produce infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine. The production of the vehicles must take place 'largely' in the Netherlands," the news story reads.
Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced this on Friday afternoon.
In addition to the money for Ukrainian aid, the government is presenting an action plan for scaling up the defense industry in the Netherlands. In particular, there will be a fund for startups in the defense market, into which the defense and economy ministries have deposited EUR 25 million. EUR 54 million will also be invested in the development of drones for the Netherlands Armed Forces.
Ollongren stated earlier that the Netherlands had not imposed any restrictions on Ukraine's use of F-16 fighter jets.
