The National Guard has developed new models of dry rations in accordance with NATO standards, which are currently being tested.

Deputy Commander of the National Guard for Logistics, Brigadier General Oleksandr Bilous, said this in an interview with Ukraine World News, Ukrinform reports.

"We are finalising a new model of dry rations based on the dry rations of Poland and the United States, i.e. NATO models. We are trying to make it not only tasty and nutritious, but also convenient, so that it takes up as little space as possible. That's why we've abandoned glass and metal jars and use only thermopacks. We are now sending it for testing," said Bilous.

He added that the new dry rations will include canned meat and vegetable products, biscuits, jam, tea and coffee. And, according to NATO standards, the calorie content of the food set will be about 4,000 kcal.

"According to the standards, they adhere to the norm of 4,000 calories. If a product does not provide these calories, they make up for it with sweets," the general said.

As reported earlier, the State Logistics Operator has contracted a Ukrainian manufacturer to supply personal heating equipment (chemical hot water bottles) for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with total procurement savings of around UAH 12.5 million.
