Air Force: Some F-16s to be stored abroad
The head of aviation of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Holubtsov, said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, “There is a number [of jats] that will come to Ukraine. There is a certain number of aircraft that will be stored at safe airbases, not in Ukraine so that they are not targets here. And this will be our reserve, if necessary, to replace damaged aircraft during scheduled maintenance.”
“That is, to ensure that we can always have a certain number of aircraft in the operational fleet, which will match the number of pilots we will have. If there are more pilots, there will be more airplanes in Ukraine,” Holubtsov said.
As reported, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said that there are no restrictions on Ukraine's use of F-16s from the Netherlands.
