Russia announces stage 2 of joint nuclear drill with Belarus

The Russian Ministry of Defense has launched the second stage of exercises to work out "the issue of joint training of Russian and Belarusian units on the combat use of tactical nuclear weapons" will be worked out.
This was reported by the ministry’s press service via Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
The ministry says the drill is aimed at maintaining combat readiness of Russian Belarusian personnel and equipment of the tactical nuclear force "to unconditionally ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Union State."
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on May 21, the Russian military launched the first stage of exercises involving practical training in the preparation and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons. The drill, announced on May 6, was aimed "to increase readiness of non-strategic nuclear forces to perform combat missions."
