SBGSU: Russia does not have enough forces to achieve strategic goals on Kharkiv direction
This was stated by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU), Andriy Demchenko, at a briefing at the Ukraine-Union Media Centre.
According to the spokesman, the situation in the Belarusian direction is fully controlled. On the other side of the border, we do not record the presence of sufficient forces to carry out an attack, but we must be prepared, he stressed.
At the same time, he added that the enemy continues to take active steps in the Kharkiv region to try to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory. Demchenko emphasised: "what is being recorded now in these areas indicates that the Russian Federation does not have enough forces to achieve its strategic goals. The defence forces are repelling attacks and inflicting casualties to prevent the Russians from implementing their plans. Understanding Russia's cunning and its desire to stretch the defence forces, we must be prepared for similar actions in other areas. In particular, not only in Kharkiv region, but also in Sumy region."
According to Demchenko, there is a certain decrease in the intensity of enemy subversive reconnaissance groups' attacks in the Sumy sector. In fact, there have been almost no such attempts recently, he added. However, the Russian army continues to constantly shell the territory of the border regions.
As reported, the total losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 980 people over the past day. The enemy also lost nine tanks, 11 armoured combat vehicles, 46 artillery systems, two air defence systems, 19 operational and tactical UAVs, two missiles, 60 vehicles and two pieces of special equipment.
