Ukrainian cyber experts shut down provider of Russian banks

The Ministry of Digital Transformation reports a successful attack by our cyber specialists on the servers of the Russian provider Mastertel, which ensures the operation of Russian banks.

The press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"For several days now, there have been malfunctions in the work of Mastertel, the main communications provider of Russian banks. Alfa-Bank, VTB, Sberbank and other sponsors of terrorism cannot provide some services because their services are down," the statement said.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, this is the result of the work of Ukrainian cyber troops, thanks to whose operations Russians cannot use exchangers and some banking operations.

The ministry also called on Ukrainians to join the ranks of the IT Army.

As reported, in late February, the Ukrainian IT Army attacked the largest Internet portal in Russia, Mail.ru.

While citing and using any materials on the Internet, links to the website ukrinform.net not lower than the first paragraph are mandatory. In addition, citing the translated materials of foreign media outlets is possible only if there is a link to the website ukrinform.net and the website of a foreign media outlet. Materials marked as "Advertisement" or with a disclaimer reading "The material has been posted in accordance with Part 3 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" No. 270/96-VR of July 3, 1996 and the Law of Ukraine "On the Media" No. 2849-Х of March 31, 2023 and on the basis of an agreement/invoice.
