Three killed, five injured as Russian invaders shell Volnovakha district in Donetsk region

Russian shelling of the Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, has killed three civilians and left five others injured.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched in criminal proceedings on violating the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the post reads.

According to the investigation, on June 15, 2024, the army of the aggressor state shelled the village of Ulakly in the Volnovakha district. According to preliminary reports, the enemy fired rockets with cluster munitions from a Smerch multiple rocket launcher. Private houses came under attack. A 30-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were killed in the attack. A 32-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries while being transported to the hospital.

Five citizens who were near a local store at the time of the attack were injured. The men aged 27 to 63 years were taken to the hospital where they were provided with qualified medical care.

Several houses and cars were damaged in the village.

Prosecutors are taking all measures to document war crimes committed by members of the Russian Armed Forces.
