Nine battles raging in Pokrovsk sector – General Staff
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 16:00 on Saturday, June 15, Ukrinform reports.
"Since the beginning of the day, 60 combat engagements have occurred on the front lines of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Our defenders are repelling enemy attacks, holding the defense lines and destroying the Russian aggressor’s plans. The occupiers continue to exert pressure mostly in the Pokrovsk sector," the statement said.
According to the General Staff, the aggressor has increased the number of attacks in the Kharkiv sector to five today. Fighting continues in the Vovchansk area. Russian troops launched MLRS attacks on this sector from the territory of Russia’s Belgorod region.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the total number of enemy attempts to advance has grown to three, with no active hostilities taking place.
In the Pokrovsk sector, nine combat clashes continue in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove and Novoselivka Persha. The enemy has tried to increase pressure in this area 24 times today with the support of aircraft, in particular, bombarding the areas of Novohrodivka, Oleksandropil, Myrne, Zhelanne, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha and Karlivka with aircraft. The sector remains the hottest along the entire front line.
Fighting continues in the Krasnohorivka area in the Kurakhove sector. There have been seven combat engagements since the beginning of the day.
The enemy attempted to attack in the Vremivka sector eight times. All attempts to improve their tactical position were unsuccessful.
In the Dnipro River sector, the aggressor attempted to attack in the vicinity of Krynky but had no success.
In other sectors of the front, the situation has not changed significantly.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army attacked a village in the Kharkiv region’s Kupiansk district, injuring a local resident.
