If Russia participates in the second Peace Summit, it will indicate that it wants to end the war.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a press conference following the Global Peace Summit in Burgenstock, Ukrinform reports.

"The Russian presence at the second Peace Summit will indicate that they have decided to end the war," Zelensky said.

He noted that Russia could even start peace talks tomorrow – "without expecting anything if they withdraw from our legitimate territories."

"This is just respect for the UN Charter," the President of Ukraine added.

However, according to him, it is still obvious that Russia does not need just peace. Therefore, according to the head of the Ukrainian state, our task today is to prevent Russia from succeeding in offensive actions in the Kharkiv region.

"I believe that now the situation has stabilized thanks to our soldiers. I also believe that in the near future, thanks to our partners, our soldiers will be strengthened and there will be responses to the invaders on the battlefield," Zelensky assured.

As reported, the first Peace Summit was taking place in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock on June 15-16. It discusses nuclear security, food security, and the humanitarian dimension - the exchange of prisoners and the return of abducted Ukrainian children. The results of the summit will be handed over to Russia.
