War update: 42 combat clashes since day-start as Russia upping pressure toward Pokrovsk
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.
The Russian army today attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders and peaceful settlements with 12 gliding bombs and 41 kamikaze drones, and has already launched more than 600 artillery and mortar strikes.
Kharkiv axis: Russia’s assault near Lyptsi saw no success. The battle continues in the Vovchansk area.
It was established that over the past 24 hours, the enemy lost more than 130 personnel killed and wounded, as well as a tank, an armored fighting vehicle, an artillery system and four vehicles on this part of the front.
Kupiansk axis: four skirmishes continue near Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, and Kruhliakivka. The situation is under control.
Lyman axis: the invaders attacked the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces near Hrekivka, Nevske, and Terny five times. The situation is tense, hostilities are underway.
Kramatorsk axis: since the beginning of the day, there have been nine skirmishes in the area. Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Nove and Klishchiivka. Seven clashes are ongoing in the areas of Kalynivka, Nove, and Ivanivske.
Pokrovsk axis: Russian troops have already made 13 attempts to break through the Ukrainian defensive lines near Novo-oleksandrivka, Kalynove, Sokil, and Novoselivka Persha. Eight attacks have been repelled and five more are ongoing.
"Ukrainian soldiers are taking measures to prevent Russian aggressors from advancing deep into our territory," the General Staff said.
Kurakhove axis: the Russian army unsuccessfully attacked near Paraskoviyvka.
Krasnohorivka axisL the situation remains tense as three clashes are underway in the area.
Vremivka axis: Russian assaults near Rivnopillia achieved no gains. Another attack is underway near Urozhaine. Ukraine has lost no ground in the area.
Orikhiv axis: Russian troops attacked in the area of Mala Tokmachka, seeing no success.
Prydniprovska axis: another attempt by the Russians to push Ukraine’s units out of the left bank of the Dnipro ended in failure.
In the rest of the axes, the Russian army ran no offensive missions.
Last day, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile and artillery units hit six Russian manpower and equipment clusters, four control points, a command and observation post, six anti-aircraft warfare systems, and an artillery system.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian army launched one missile and 39 airstrikes on Ukraine during the day, as well as shelled the Ukrainian military positions and populaces over 400 times.
In the early hours of Wednesday, June 19, Ukraine downed 19 out of 21 Shahed kamikaze drones launched by the Russian military.
