Strike on Kharkiv: number of wounded rises to 56, three killed
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the National Police.
At about 15:30, the Russian military struck Kharkiv, probably with four D-30 KMPBs. A five-storey residential building, a public transport stop, shops, cars, and public transport were damaged. There were also hits on the territory of the Ecopark and the enterprise.
According to preliminary data, three people were killed and 56 others were injured. Among the injured are two children, aged 12 and 13.
Six people, including one man, four women and one child, are in serious condition, the police said.
According to Serhiy Bolvinov, head of the investigation department of the Kharkiv regional police, all the victims of the Russian shelling were civilians. A woman was killed at a trolleybus stop, a man was walking down the street and was in the centre of the explosion. Another man killed was a security guard at the enterprise.
"It's hard to say how many people may be under the rubble. A rescue operation is underway. We are carefully examining the remains of the building to remove parts of the guided bomb, we have information that the Russians struck with KMPB D-30 guided bombs," Bolvinov said.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv with KABs on the afternoon of 22 June, hitting a residential building.
