In Crimea, occupants claim 5 dead, more than 120 wounded in Sevastopol missile attack
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Radio Svoboda with reference to the occupation administration.
Most of the victims are likely to be visitors to local beaches. Initially, it was reported that a Ukrainian missile was shot down on 23 June over the city beach and the victims were injured by the debris.
The latest version claims that the missile was carrying a cluster warhead and exploded over the beach after being diverted by air defence. Accordingly, the victims were injured by submunitions.
It was stated that two children, aged two and nine, were among the dead. The Russian Ministry of Health reported 124 injured, including 27 children. Five children are in serious condition.
The Baza Telegram channel clarified that the 9-year-old girl who died was the daughter of the deputy mayor of Magadan.
Local residents report that the air strike warning system failed to work before the attack.
