Vinnytsia City Council has allocated almost UAH 225 million to support Ukrainian forces, including UAH 200 million to purchase military bonds.

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

The decision was made at the 47th session of the city council on June 28.

"We are transferring almost UAH 17 million as subventions to various structures of the Security and Defense Forces. We are directing UAH 2.3 million as subventions to the Vinnytsia communications regiment. We are allocating UAH 5 million as subventions to our hospital to improve treatment conditions for defenders and defendresses," he said.

According to Morhunov, the city council plans to direct up to UAH 200 million to support the army through military bonds.

"Using these funds, the state can buy heavy weapons. The city does not have such powers. That is why we use such a mechanism to help the defenders," he said.

Since the beginning of the year, Vinnytsia has earmarked more than UAH 400 million to support the army. More than UAH 1 billion has been laid down for security and defense in the city budget, and this amount is expected to be increased by UAH 200 million.
