Russian strike on post office in Kharkiv: truck driver killed, 10 injured
The National Police reported this, according to Ukrinform.
"Today, at about 4:30 p.m., the Russian military launched airstrikes on Kharkiv. The bomb hit a postal terminal located in a residential area. About ten vehicles that were being loaded were destroyed," the statement said.
According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, about nine people could have been in the premises of Nova Post at the time of the enemy munition hit.
"A 38-year-old driver was killed, the body is very mutilated, so a DNA study will be carried out to identify the deceased. Among the ten injured are drivers and postal workers, as well as an eight-month-old child with whom the parents were walking - the child fell on the sidewalk from the blast wave," the police said.
Investigators, forensic experts and explosives technicians are currently working at the scene. Experts are finding out the type of ammunition that hit the civilian infrastructure facility.
On the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 438 (violations of the laws and customs of war related to premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As the Nova Post company reported on Facebook, all shift workers were in the bomb shelter and were not injured. But there are casualties among the population, as well as truck drivers. Seven trucks are on fire. The terminal is damaged.
As Ukrinform reported, a guided aerial bomb hit a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv. Earlier it was known about nine victims and one dead.
