Ukrainian sappers neutralize 1,405 explosives in past week

In the past week, June 24-30, demining units of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's State Special Transport Service found and neutralized 1,405 explosive objects.

The State Special Transport Service said this in a post on its Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.

"The area of 1,440.78 hectares has been demined (inspected). Most of the explosive items were neutralized in the Kherson region – 718," the statement said.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, units of the State Special Transport Service have found and neutralized 175,190 explosive objects.

“The area of 109,805.42 hectares has been demined (inspected): 25.51 hectares of water areas, 2,564.93 km of railroad tracks, 489.71 km of power lines, 66.91 km of gas pipelines, and 368.80 ha of residential area territories, and 105,510.49 hectares of agricultural land,” the statement said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, according to the Ministry of Defense, 30,000 square kilometers of the liberated territories in Ukraine have been recognized as having no evidence of contamination by explosive ordnance, which is more than 17% of the previous contamination assessment.
