Russian forces shell border area of Sumy region 23 times in past day

On Thursday, July 4, Russian troops fired 23 times at the border area and settlements of the Sumy region, with a total of 67 explosions recorded.

According to Ukrinform, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Telegram.

The Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, and Shalyhyne communities came under shelling.

The enemy attacked the Bilopillia community with mortars and FPV drones (five and two explosions, respectively).

The Russian forces shelled the Krasnopillia community with mortars (12 explosions), and artillery (14 explosions). Additionally, VOG-type explosives were dropped from a drone (three explosions) and a Lancet drone strike was recorded.

The invaders dropped four mines on the territory of the Shalyhyne community.

The Velyka Pysarivka community was shelled with mortars (six explosions), MLRS (ten explosions), artillery (two explosions). VOG-type explosive were dropped from an UAV (two explosions).

The enemy attacked the Khotin community with mortars (four explosions). The Yunakivka and Esman communities came under FPV drone strikes (one explosion each).

As reported by Ukrinform, the Defense Forces thwarted attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter the Chernihiv and Sumy sectors.
