Another 16 civilians evacuated from Donetsk region’s Toretsk community
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the region's main directorate of the State Emergency Service.
"The Donetsk region is devastated by war. Life in the frontline cities has become unbearable. The city of Toretsk and neighboring settlements are currently under constant shelling by the occupiers... 16 people, including 3 people with disabilities and 1 person with limited mobility, were evacuated from the Toretsk community by the rescuers," the statement said.
As reported, since December 2023, the Russian invaders have intensified shelling of settlements in the Donetsk region.
As of the beginning of June 2024, nearly 472,000 residents remained in the Donetsk region. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, 1.415 million residents of the region have been evacuated to safer areas. Among them were nearly 168,770 children.
