Lviv allocates 39 million to repair apartments destroyed by Russian missiles last year

The Lviv City Council has allocated UAH 39 million to compensate residents of four houses on Stryiska Street that were destroyed on July 6, 2023, during the largest Russian missile attack.

Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Just yesterday, the city council session allocated 39 million to compensate for the repair of apartments," Sadovyi said.

According to him, the owners will receive between UAH 200,000 and UAH 1,900,000, depending on the damage and the size of the apartment.

The mayor noted that the city has already rebuilt these houses, including rebuilding the floors, restoring the roofs, replacing windows, and restoring communications. It remains to complete the repair of some stairwells, repair the facades and install doors.

"It's only a matter of time before people return to their homes. And all this time, we have been paying rent for the residents of 47 apartments that have been most affected," the mayor added.

As Ukrinform reported, on July 6, 2023, Russians carried out the largest-scale shelling of Lviv. As a result of the missile strikes on the city, 10 people were killed, more than 40 were injured, and houses, schools, dormitories, universities, a business center, restaurants, and shops were damaged.
