Klymenko: 1,325 civilians evacuated from frontline settlements in Donetsk region in past week

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"During my stay in the region, I visited one of the evacuation centers that receives dozens of people every day. It has equipped rooms for temporary stay, including for children, a generator and  connection. People who have fled the shelling are provided with food and hygiene kits. From here, the evacuees are going to the rear regions of the country," noted Klymenko.

According to the minister, "7 evacuation groups – ‘White Angels’, patrol police, rescuers and paramedics - work in the Toretsk community every day."

"Out of more than 1,300 people evacuated over the past week, 35 are children," informed Klymenko.

The minister spoke with the heads of the units and praised the personnel who risk their lives to assist civilians in evacuating the area subjected to shelling.

"Sometimes it takes a lot of effort. It is not easy to persuade those who have lived in their own homes all their lives to leave. Moreover, the enemy is targeting evacuation groups," underscored Klymenko.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, an evacuation train has arrived in the Volyn region, bringing 69 residents of the Donetsk region.
