Massive Russian missile attack leaves 42 dead in Ukraine

As a result of the Russian missile attack on Ukraine on 8 July, 42 people were killed, including four children, and the rescue operation continues.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

Police and rescuers are working at the sites of the attacks.

"Yesterday, one of the targets of the Russian army was the Okhmatdyt children's medical institution, where children from all over Ukraine were treated. As a result of the attack by the Russian military, two adults were killed: a doctor and a visitor to the medical facility, and 30 others were injured, including 10 children. More than 700 police officers were involved in the aftermath of the attack, including officers of the Shevchenkivsky Police Department, dog handlers, special forces of regiments No. 1 and No. 2, patrol police officers, investigators, and operatives, who, together with rescuers, the National Guard, and city residents, cleared the rubble, rescued people, and documented the crime of the aggressor state," the statement said.

Also in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, Russian terrorists completely hit a residential apartment building, the entrance of the building was completely destroyed. The rubble killed 12 residents, including four children aged 8 to 14, and injured 25 others.

In the Dniprovskyi district of the capital, a missile attack on a medical centre killed nine people and injured eight.

In addition, the cities of Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih also suffered from Russian attacks on businesses, a multi-storey residential building and a service station: 11 people were killed and 69 injured.

In Dnipro, a multi-storey building and a car service station were destroyed. More than 200 police officers were on the scene to document Russia's crimes, clear the rubble and help people.

In total, 190 people were injured and 323 objects were damaged in the past 24 hours as a result of Russia's massive shelling.

As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of 8 July, Russian invaders fired 40 missiles of various types at Ukraine. The massive missile attack hit Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk. Residential buildings, infrastructure and the Okhmatdyt children's hospital were damaged.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, the bodies of three women were recovered from the rubble of a high-rise building destroyed by Russian shelling on 8 July, and the body of another person was later found. The number of dead residents increased to 12.
