Two people killed and four wounded in Kupiansk district as result of Russian shelling

Two people died and four were injured in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region as a result of shelling on 9 July.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"According to the investigation, on 9 July, from 16:10 to 16:40, the Russian armed forces carried out air strikes on the village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Two people were killed: A 73-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman," the statement said.

In addition, according to the prosecutor's office, a man in his 40s, an 88-year-old woman and an 18-year-old girl were injured. The 73-year-old woman had an acute stress reaction.

The shelling damaged residential buildings and outbuildings in the settlement. Fires broke out.

According to the regional department of the State Emergency Service, there were several fire spots, apartment buildings, private houses and cars were damaged.

The police have launched an investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As reported, a civilian was killed in Bohodukhiv district as a result of shelling on 7 July.
