Yellow Ribbon Movement donates Sakharov Prize to support Okhmatdet

The Yellow Ribbon resistance movement has decided to donate the Sakharov Prize in the amount of 350,000 hryvnias received in 2022 to support the Kyiv hospital Okhmatdyt, which was attacked by Russian troops with missiles on July 8.

The movement announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"In line with its mission of support and assistance, the Yellow Ribbon Movement sent a letter to the European Parliament to send its part of the Sakharov Prize, received in 2022, to support the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital Foundation," the statement said.

It is noted that the amount of the contribution is more than 350 thousand hryvnias - this money will be used for the critical needs of the hospital.

As reported by Ukrinform, on July 8, Russia launched massive strikes in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and other cities in Ukraine. According to recent reports, 42 people were killed, including four children, and 190 were injured.

In the capital, one of the missiles hit the building of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital. Two floors of one of the buildings with an area of approximately 400 square meters were destroyed. Several other buildings were damaged.
