Russian killer drone flies into Belarus amid overnight attack on Ukraine - watchdog
This was reported in Telegram by the Belarusian Hajun monitoring group, Ukrinform reports.
The UAV entered the Belarusian airspace from Chernihiv region in the area of Loiev (Gomel region), heading northwest toward Mozyr.
"...However, there is another important aspect. As the initial reports on the UAV crossing into Belarus came in, a Mi-24 helicopter of the Belarusian Air Force had been in the airspace for about an hour after taking off from the Machulyshchi airfield at around 19:00, bound for Gomel region, as had a fighter jet from Baranovichi, which took off even earlier, at about 18:30," the report reads.
The watchdog suggest that the Belarusian air defense forces had spotted the Shakhed long before Telegram channels reported the news. This means that the drone could have breached Belarus’s airspace at around 19:00.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, an air raid alert went off Thursday evening in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Poltava regions after Russia launched a barrage of one-way attack drones.
