F-16s alone can’t be seen as game changer for Ukraine - Kuleba
That’s according to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who answered CNN’s Christiane Amanpour’s question about the role of the F-16 fighter jets about to be delivered to Ukraine.
“No single weapon can be a game changer that will change everything. We can change the situation for the good only if have all necessary weapons and sufficient amount of equipment and ammunition. This is why F-16s are as important as different types of air defense systems, this is why they are as important as main battle tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery ammunition,” the foreign minister.
“All of them, taken together, can and will be a game changer,” the top diplomat believes.
When it comes specifically to F-16s, Kuleba went on to say, the message is clear – Ukraine will be significantly strengthening its air force capabilities. In the meantime, Russia is deploying hundreds of fighter jets against Ukraine so F-16s are the only sustainable way to enforce the Ukrainian Air Force, allowing to be far more efficient in throwing the Russians out of the Ukrainian skies.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine will receive the first batch of F-16 fighter jets within a few weeks, as per a joint statement by U.S. President Joe Biden and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof and Danish PM Mette Frederiksen.
