Intensity of fighting on Kharkiv axis increasing – military spokesperson
Vitalii Sarantsev, a spokesperson for the Kharkiv Group of Forces, said this on Ukrainian television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Thirteen combat clashes occurred in the past 24 hours. The enemy carried out 20 airstrikes against our positions using 46 guided aerial bombs, 41 kamikaze drone strikes, and 440 shelling attacks against the positions of our troops using both small arms and artillery. More recently, the number of shelling attacks against our positions was around 300-350. That is, we see that this number has increased by 100, which indicates the intensity of hostilities," he said.
According to Sarantsev, the Russians are using aircraft in this sector very actively.
"Until recently, we recorded the use of about 20 guided aerial bombs or at most 30. Yesterday there were 46, and the day before yesterday there were 43," Sarantsev said.
At the same time, he said that the enemy had lost 120 people and 77 pieces of weapons and military equipment on the Kharkiv axis over the past day.
Russia's total combat losses in Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to July 14, 2024 amounted to about 559,090 soldiers, including 1,320 killed or wounded in action in the past 24 hours.
