Explaining complex things in simple words: Trump assassination attempt, Russian terrorism, relations with Belarus
TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
On July 14, there was an armed attack on U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump. Several participants of the event were injured. D. Trump was slightly
Ukraine strongly condemns the assassination attempt. We wish Donald Trump a speedy recovery and express our condolences to the victims of the rally in Pennsylvania and their relatives.
The U.S. is a democratic country, so its fate should be decided by the people through fair elections, not by a fanatic's shot.
We are convinced that the U.S. law enforcement agencies will conduct a quick and objective investigation of the crime.
Moscow already traditionally resorts to dirty speculation to earn political bonuses from someone else's tragedy. Similar to what happened during the attempt on the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico.
RUSSIAN TERRORISM
On July 12, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation accused Ukraine of preparing to blow up the dams of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Kaniv Reservoir.
Moscow's accusation is absurd in its essence. There can be no realistic purpose or motive for Ukraine to destroy its own infrastructure or endanger Ukrainians.
The Russian terrorist regime does not need additional explanation, it has already repeatedly proven its terrorist nature.
Russian aggression is the only cause of threats to the civilian population and the destruction of critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
It was the Russian invaders who blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam in 2023, which led to ecocide and a humanitarian disaster. The Russians also attacked the Dnipro and Kaniv HPPs with missiles in March of this year.
Russian accusations are nothing more than a veiled threat to carry out new terrorist acts against the critical infrastructure of Ukraine. These threats are taken seriously, and precautions have been taken.
RELATIONS WITH BELARUS
On July 13, the dictator of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, announced the
"elimination of tensions on the border with Ukraine" and the withdrawal of Belarusian troops from the border.
We will never forget that Belarus has already been used as a Russian bridgehead for aggression in 2022, and therefore we are taking increased measures to strengthen and defend the northern border.
Ukraine does not need an additional "Belarusian" front in conditions where forces are needed to repel full-scale Russian aggression. However, we are ready to give a decisive response to possible provocations.
The so-called "tension on the border" at the end of June this year was invented and initiated by the official Minsk.
The real threat to Belarusians is not Ukraine but, for example, Russian Shaheds, which regularly enter the airspace of Belarus, crossing hundreds of kilometres over Belarusian territory.
