Sea Baby drones now able to hit Russian ships all across Black Sea

Ukraine’s own Sea Baby naval drones can carry over a ton for more than 1,000 km, which means they are able to sink Russian ships anywhere across the Black Sea.

That’s according to the spokesman for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Artem Dekhtiarenko, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.

The SBU is engaged in developing its tech capabilities, the spokesman noted.

"If we’re talking specifically of upgrading Sea Baby drones, which hit the Crimea bridge last year, as of today they have completely different characteristics, having become much more powerful. For example, a year ago our drone could carry about 800 kg of explosives to a distance of about 800 km, and today it is over 1,000 kg and over 1,000 km. So today the SBU can attack enemy ships virtually anywhere across the Black Sea," he said.

Dekhtiarenko noted that these are not just kamikaze drones but rather multi-purpose platforms able to perform a variety of combat tasks.

"The SBU has equipped some drones with Grad multiple rocket launchers, some are engaged in remote mining.

Besides the Sea Baby models, the SBU uses another type of sea drones, the Mamai, which have also proven effective, including when they hit the Olenegorskiy Gornyak warship - ed.), the spokesman said.

As reported, earlier in Novorossiysk Bay, a sea drone damaged Russian Black Fleet’s large landing ship, Olenegorskiy Gornyak, with nearly 100 crew on board.
