There were 130 combat engagements in frontline over last day, most intense in Pokrovsk and Toretsk sectors

There were 130 combat engagements with Russian troops on the frontline yesterday, with the greatest enemy activity observed in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk sectors.

According to Ukrinform, this is stated in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Friday, 19 July.

According to the updated information, over the past day, the Russians launched three missile attacks with four missiles at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, 73 air strikes, and used 101 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, they fired 4675 times, 139 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

The areas of Lyptsi, Vovchanski Khutory, Staritsia, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynove in Kharkiv region were hit by air strikes; Siversk, Lyman, Tymofiivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Vovche, Kostiantynivka, Yelizavetivka, Berestky, Kostiantynopil, Novoselivka Persha, Chasiv Yar, Pivnichne, Toretsk, Oleksandropil, Shevchenko, Velyka Novosilka, Urozhayne in Donetsk region; Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops continued offensive and assault operations. There were 12 combat engagements in the area. All of them took place in the areas of Hlyboke and Vovchansk. Russians actively used bomber aircraft for attacks.

In the Kupyansk sector, 11 attacks took place over the last day. Ukrainian defence forces repelled all Russian army assaults near Sinkivka, Stelmakhivka and Berestove.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 14 Russian attacks near Makiivka, Nevske, Torske and Terny.

In the Siverskyi sector, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled five assault attacks. Russians tried to advance near Pereyizne, Spirne and Vyymka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped six attempts by Russian troops to break through Ukrainian defences. The invaders, with the support of aviation, made their main efforts in the area of Chasiv Yar.

Russian troops continued to be active in the Toretsk sector yesterday. In total, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 20 times in the areas of Pivnichne, Toretsk and New York. They carried out air strikes with anti-aircraft gunships and unguided aerial missiles.

In the Pokrovske sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 27 assaults and attacks in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Progress, Umanske and Yasnobrodivka, where the invaders, supported by aviation, tried to force the Defence Forces units out of their positions.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Defence Forces stopped Russian attacks near Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka, where the enemy tried to break through the Ukrainian troops' defences 15 times.

In the Orikhiv sector, six combat engagements took place in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka, with no success.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russians continue to try to drive Ukrainian units from their positions. Three aggressor attacks were repelled by Ukrainian troops.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remains unchanged. There are no signs of the formation of offensive groups of Russian troops.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian invaders maintain a military presence, shelling settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities against Ukraine.

Fighting continues along almost the entire contact line. Ukrainian soldiers are holding back Russian attacks. Ukrainian artillery, intelligence, aviation and unmanned systems are depleting the enemy's forces, the General Staff noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine since 24 February 2022 amount to about 564,620 people.
